This turned out to be one of the more disappointing Tonkotsu ramen experiences I’ve had. The biggest issue is clearly the broth. For me, it lacked the depth, creaminess, and thickness that define a proper Tonkotsu. Instead of being rich and milky, it felt rather thin and almost clear. What might look like richness at first glance (small fat droplets) actually seems to come largely from added sesame oil. While that may add some aroma, it feels more like a distraction than a substitute for a properly developed Tonkotsu broth. Authentic spots typically don’t rely on this. The noodles were standard — thin and cooked al dente, which was done well, but nothing particularly memorable. On the positive side, the chashu pork was excellent. It was thinly sliced, of good quality, and clearly one of the highlights of the bowl. Another point to mention is the condiment station. While it’s nice in theory to have unlimited toppings, many of them are extremely spicy and can easily overpower and ruin the broth. I would actually recommend avoiding them unless you specifically want intense heat, as they quickly dominate the flavor..

Good Ramen in Town. Soup is not too salty. Kimchi is good. Convenient for ordering through a vending machine in front of the shop. Quick grab for a dinner. Take some time to wait for a table while we can order and pay ahead.

We LOVED our experience at kinryu ramen. We both got the standard pork ramen (less than 1000¥/£5 each), and added our own toppings of garlic, kimchi, and some sort of spicy green. It was honestly so delicious, and fun to watch it being prepared in front of us. The seating is partially covered, so I was glad we had a bright sunny day. The one addition I would have added would be an egg!

For street food, this is ramen is very good! The broth is flavourful and the chashu is roasted nicely. The queue can be long but it's worth the wait. They have only tonkatsu ramen in two sizes. Free flow of kimchi and garlic too

We waited in line for about 20 minutes. There were only 2 choices of ramen, standard cha siu and extra cha siu. We ordered 2 standard ramen, 800 yen each. You can add kimchi, minced garlic and spicy chives. My bowl only had 2 small slices of cha siu and they were not tender. The soup and noodles were not bad. Not worth the time to line up.
